About the practice

At home in a modern, purpose-built primary care centre, Beechwood is part of the Inner City & East Locality.

The practice offers a mixture of same day appointments, bookable appointments, telephone appointments and triage.

Beechwood also offers in-house minor surgery and sexual health services.

The clinical team holds regular meetings to discuss cases, as well as multi-disciplinary team meetings. There is also access to a lead GP for support and GP expertise across different areas.

The practice believes that work/life balance is important and so employs very fair practices and principles for all staff and GPs.

Beechwood staff report that it is a very good place to work with high levels of satisfaction reflected in staff surveys. Staff are encouraged to develop to their full potential and training is supported and encouraged.

What we offer

The practice currently has both GPs and other staff working flexible and child friendly hours, part-time working and job share opportunities. There are currently no positions that are term-time only.

Beechwood supports all statutory benefits such as maternity, paternity and adoptive leave. Unpaid leave is considered on a case-by-case basis. There is also a childcare voucher scheme in place.

Learning and development

All new staff are welcomed with a full induction, Buddy scheme, Mentoring scheme and social events.

Staff are offered paid leave for courses and CPD study days, funding for approved training and development courses, and study leave for approved examinations, depending on the staff group.

Our patients

Beechwood patients are very ethnically diverse with a large number of young families and older patients living in their own homes.
