Tyntesfield Medical Group is a merged group of surgeries, comprised of Long Ashton Surgery, Tower House Surgery, and Backwell and Nailsea Medical Group.
Backwell and Long Ashton surgeries were once domestic buildings whereas Tower House and Brockway surgeries are modern purpose-built facilities.
The practices are friendly, welcoming and the team are patient-focused.
Offering a mix of same day and bookable appointments, the practices also have a limited number of telephone appointments each day.
The practices also offer minor surgery at most surgeries with some Cryo done at Tower House.
Tyntesfield is working towards working in a locality.
The team is patient focussed from the top down and all teams are all very supportive of each other.
Tyntesfield’s mission is to be a friendly, accessible team providing excellent healthcare in the community.
The practice’s vision is to provide the best possible healthcare, and promote better physical and mental health through a planned programme of health promotion and preventative care. Tyntesfield also commits to providing a comprehensive range of accessible, efficient and responsive services.
For the team, the practice aims to provide a professional, pleasant, safe, supportive and efficient working environment, including all team members in planning and decision-making.
People enjoy working here, which is evidenced by the established team, some of whom have been here for more than 20 years.
Tyntesfield offers options for flexible working that include job share and part-time working.
The practice also offers staff paid maternity, paternity and adoption leave.
In the last year, the practice has held three team events, including bowling, dragon boat racing and a Christmas event.
All new staff are welcomed and supported with a full induction, buddy scheme, mentoring scheme, and social events.
Induction schemes are tailored to the individual however in all cases new staff are given the opportunity to meet the members of their team. GPs also get a buddy to work with or a mentor, while admin staff receive full training, one to one or online. Everyone receives full H&S familiarisation and all necessary checks are done too.
All doctors get study leave which is paid and all staff are given access to and funding for appropriate and relevant training.
Continuous support is given in the form of regular Clinical Governance and MDT meetings. GPs have access to a lead GP for support, and experience is shared in Urology, Sexual Health and Dermatology from our in-house experts.
As the practice covers a large area, the large patient list reflects a diverse and varied population.
82% of patients in the most recent surgery are ‘extremely likely’ or ‘likely’ to recommend the practice. Tyntesfield also rates four to five stars on NHS choices.
