Clinical Pharmacist - part time (2 days per week) - Bridge View Medical

Bridge View Medical is an established practice and Primary Care Network in its own right. We have 5 sites in South Bristol with c39,000 patients cared for by a wonderful team of 150 dedicated Partners and staff.  We are a larger practice with all the benefits this has to offer while still retaining a friendly and supportive culture.

We have 7 pharmacists already in our team and are looking to replace one of our team who is returning to New Zealand!

We operate a prescription hub with dedicated prescription clerks, which is overseen by our 2 pharmacy technicians. We have close links with local community pharmacies and will be hosting 2 trainee pharmacists this year in conjunction with one of them.

This is a prescribing position, and we especially invite applications from pharmacists who are already independent prescribers. We will consider applications from pharmacists who are not prescribers and will provide funding and mentorship to undertake independent prescribing training should that be necessary.

We are a friendly practice and are keen to develop all our staff to their full potential. You will work closely with our existing team of pharmacists who will support you to expand your professional competence.

Main duties of the job

The role involves telephone contact with patients for medication related queries, resolving prescription queries, medication reviews and SMRs, reconciling discharge summaries, conducting clinics in your specialism, urgent prescriptions, nursing home MDTs and SMRs, and generally anything medication/prescribing related.

You will also act as point of reference and educational support for the practice clinicians for prescribing related matters, legislation and medical information. You will be involved with supporting the development of policies, clinical protocols and guidelines.
