St. Mary Street Surgery is an average sized practice situated in the town of Thornbury. We are aptly located with convenient, free, car parking just adjacent. Due to popular demand, our list is growing and we currently serve 8700 patients.

Our team includes; 4 Partners, 3 salaried GPs, 2 ANPs, a nursing team of 6, an excellent reception team and a supportive administrative team. We are a training practice so often have 1 or 2 trainees who are very much thought of as key members of our team.

We work closely with our neighbouring practices as part of Severnvale PCN and have collectively appointed First Contact Physios, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Care Coordinators, a Frailty Nurse Practitioner, a Mental Health Nurse and social prescribers. Our Pharmacy team are a success story. The 5 practices now benefit from a prescribing hub who support us not only with prescriptions, but also medication queries, documents, structured medication reviews, CDM clinics and much more.

St Mary Street Surgery is consistently recognised as a high performing practice and we always fair well in the annual Patient Satisfaction Survey. We pride ourselves on being a cohesive team that endeavours to create an open and safe forum to collect feedback from all colleagues. We meet as a practice on a 3 monthly basis to capture thoughts and ideas to ensure continued service improvement.

We are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Nurse on a fixed, part time basis. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, proactive and positive. You will need to be competent in all the usual practice nurse duties including wound care, compression bandage, cervical smears, baby and travel immunisations and pessary ring procedures as well as Chronic Disease Management.
