Health Care Assistant - Greenway Community Practice

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Health Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Greenway Community Practice.

We are a Practice of 5 Partners and 5 GPs, with a patient list size of just over 11,500. We are very proud to have been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission and voted the ‘Best GP Practice in Bristol’ by our patients in the annual GP patient survey.

We have one of the best patient recommendation scores with 95% of patients recommending our service.

The opportunity has arisen for an experienced, friendly, and motivated individual to join our Nursing team as Health Care Assistant. The post may also suit an experienced phlebotomist who is keen to develop into a HCA role.

Working alongside the Treatment Room Nurses, the successful applicant will project a positive and friendly image to patients and visitors both in person and on the telephone. Experience of infection control processes and regulatory frameworks is essential.

This role would suit someone who is well organised, remains calm under pressure and who strives to deliver a high standard of patient care.

For this 15 hrs per week part time position, an hourly rate of between £11.50 and £12.00 is on offer, commensurate with experience, together with an NHS pension and a generous holiday allowance.

Specific job responsibilities include;

• Phlebotomy
• BP monitoring
• Height/weight (BMI) monitoring
• New patient health checks
• ECGs
• Obtaining pathology samples, swabs, urine, blood etc.
• Giving advice on smoking, diet and health promotion
• Giving injections with a patient specific directive
• Baby Checks/1st Imms
• Mental Health Reviews
• Wound Care
